Research

Welcome to the Research pages of our faculty.

We are proud to present our research in Psychology and Education at the VU University which meets the highest standards and is characterized by strong innovation, collaboration across multiple disciplines, and immediate societal relevance. There are research programs dealing with genetics, affective and cognitive neuroscience, attachment, treatment and prevention of depression and anxiety disorders, development of psychological problems in children and adolescents, leadership, and social psychological processes. Together the programmes span the entire range from fundamental to applied research.  

Because innovation occurs at the intersection of different disciplines, we actively participate actively in research institutes that cross over into the fields of Medicine, Liberal Arts and Life Sciences (e.g. www.emgo.nl ; www.neurosciencecampus-amsterdam.nl/en).

We aspire to a good synergy between research and education. A major deliverable of our research is a next generation of visionary and ambitious researchers in Psychology and Education.
