Professional interests
My research interests focus on those patterns of social interaction that cannot be explained in terms of the assumption of “rational self-interest” and that are challenging to individuals. Key issues to which I am addicted as a researcher are:
(a) Differences in prosocial, individualistic, and competitive orientations
(b) Forgiveness, sacrifice, and generosity
(c) Trust and misunderstanding in social interaction
(d) Interdependence and taxonomic approaches to social psychology
(e) Bridging social psychology
(f) Translating social psychology to everyday life
