Professional interests

Annemieke van Straten is concerned with the following research topics:

• Common mental disorders - the disorders which are most prevalent in society and cause most burden of disease
• Cost-effective mental health care: the scarce mental health care facilities should be allocated most efficiently and effectively
• Evidence based interventions – which interventions are most (cost) effective
• Stepped care – the most (cost-)effective interventions need to be allocated most efficiently
• Performance management / quality of care– the outcomes of routine mental health care should be monitored closely in order to enhance quality of care

She supervises several PhD projects, e.g.:
comparing effectiveness of web-based CBT vs web-based PST
web-based screening
the role of support in web-based interventions
stepped care for depression and anxiety
social phobia
assocation between depression and obesity
web-based intervention for suicidal thoughts
